Car Accident Results in Flipped Car on U.S. 19 and Gulf-to-Bay Blvd ...

Us 19Car accidents occur on U.S. Highway 19 every day. With the construction going on in Clearwater, the chance of an automobile accident is greatly increased. Two people are the latest to find this out after a 4-car crash?caused a car to flip at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard yesterday.

At about 10:00 a.m., a gray Chevy Colbalt heading east on Gulf-to-Bay Blvd drove into westbound traffic and rolled over, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Stephanie Kohn-Goodyear, 16, was in the back seat of the Cobalt looking at her cell phone when the crash happened.?"the next thing you know, we're flipped," she said. Kohn-Goodyear said she was in the car with three friends. All of them, including the injured driver, were wearing seat belts. The driver was taken to Bayfront Medical Center. Also, the driver of another vehicle involved in the accident was transported to Morton Plant Hospital.

Anyone who drives through this intersection knows how confusing the intersection is during the construction. Since we have many years before the U.S. 19 construction is completed, we all need to be extra cautious while driving on U.S. 19. A few seconds or minutes of added attention could prevent you or your friends and family from being injured (or even killed) in a car accident.

Drive safely and watch out for those who don't.
