CWN - October 09, 2012

Accompanied by his sons and others, a prosecutor of the criminal court in Alexandria entered a Coptic Orthodox church, demolishing most of its altar.

The Coptic Orthodox Church had recently purchased St. Mary?s Church in Rashid (Rosetta), a city of 60,000, from the Greek Orthodox Church, according to a report from the Assyrian International News Agency. The prosecutor, Mohammad Mostafa Kamel, claimed he had purchased the church and threatened to murder the Coptic Orthodox priests serving at the church.

Local police did not take action against Kamel.
