As with most things it differs with every surgeon.??My surgeon had no restrictions on caffeine for that matter I was given caffeinated coffee in the hospital the day after my surgery and have drank at least 1 cup every day since.??They say it will effect you more after surgery, but I have never had any problem with caffeine before or after surgery, I can drink a cup of coffee right before bed and not have a problem.??It is also a natural diuretic which is actually helpful in not getting constipated, but can cause some added problems with dehydration if your not careful.??As with everything you should probably ask you surgeon but this is my experiences.
