Q&A with Marrymealready.com, a new online dating site | VOXXI

There are a lot of online dating sites out there helping people find a date. But one new site is trying to differentiate itself from the others. MarryMeAlready.com is one online dating site that has been designed exclusively for marriage-minded individuals. Casual daters must abstain!

Candy Tolentino is the CEO of MarrymeAlready.com. She is married to Josh Black andthey are in this business together. We conversed with her so as to find out the real difference of this site in comparison with the big fish such as POF, Match.com, eHarmony and the ones specifically aimed at Latinos, such as LatinoPeopleMeet.com, LatinAmericanCupid.com, Amor S.M and Latin Singles Connection.

Following is our Q&A with Candy Tolentino

Q.- There are several of online dating sites around. How is
MarryMeAlready different?

A.- ?MarryMeAlready.com is different because it is the only site designed specifically for users who are seeking long term relationships and marriage. In addition, unlike another popular dating site for serious relationships, we allow you to look for and?choose your own matches,?(as well as having our computer algorithm suggest matches for you).

We also allow users to upload their own videos, and include personal blogs within their profiles. We highlight different members? stories each month. We also donate 5% of profits to charity. We?re really a different, more personal type of online relationship site. We also are currently offering a one year membership 100% free to anyone signing up during our initial launch period,?which is now!

Q.- How was this site started? Why did you decide to try on a new online
site?

A.- When Josh and I were single, we had a heck of a time finding each other. We were both fit, employed, fun, successful, adventurous people. We both had profiles on the same online dating sites, and we both had no shortage of dates, yet we never found each other.

What we had a hard time locating was someone we were compatible with, who was also genuinely looking for a relationship that was meaningful. When you go to a club, a party, etc. ? people who are ready for marriage aren?t exactly lit up in neon green! In my experience, online dating sites were teeming with people looking for one night stands, and casual relationships. It can be really difficult to know who?s on the same page as you. Even after I became married, this lingering problem stayed with me. I watched so many of my single friends go through the same thing.

One day when I was talking to one of them in particular ? an attractive single guy who was kind, successful, and really intent on finding his mate, yet at 37 years old had never found her, I said to him ?You should just put up a website?, ?MarryMeAlready.com? and the idea was born! I suggested he find another name for his website. :)

In all seriousness, I knew there had to be a better way, and now there is. ?Oh and so far so good- he?s met a female he really likes via the site! Fingers crossed!

?Q.- What happens once a user has signed up to the site?

A.- Well, the site is brand new, so we are still adding upgrades and additional features all the time. However currently, you log on, upload some pictures (clear, respectable/flattering ones, hopefully- we do have to approve each photo!) Then, you fill out your profile enabling other users to get to know you; like:

a) What type of relationship you?re looking for (more than 90% of our current users have selected in 12 months they?d like to be married or in a relationship leading towards marriage)

b) Your religious/spiritual beliefs

c) Whether you have children or want children, and the like.

There are optional questions that allow you to dig deeper such as ?If you could ask God any one question, what would it be?? ?If you could have unlimited youth or unlimited money, for 50 years, which would you choose?? Etc.

These questions allow other users to get a deeper view of what makes you tick, but again they are optional. After completing your profile, you are free to search other users? profiles, read their blogs, view their videos, contact them, and hopefully start up something meaningful!

Q.- Does a new user have to pay? How much? What does he/she get in return?

A.- Currently, all new users receive a free 1-year membership. ?We are celebrating our launch in this way. Membership includes being able to search and communicate with all members, and if you?re lucky, even receiving a featured profile. When we do convert to a paid site (soon), the average cost will only be about $10 monthly. We really seek to keep our membership fees at a very affordable level. We also plan to run contests and giveaways every month to give back to our members and keep things fun. We just had a huge multi-sponsor Valentine?s giveaway with 4 winners chosen, who each will receive multiple gifts to enhance their lives and ability to find love.

Q.- Do you have a specific niche for Latinos?

A.- Though I am of Dominican heritage and I am deeply connected to my Latin roots,?the specific niche of the site is for serious relationship and marriage-minded people.

We think this niche specifically benefits Latinos and other people of color especially since sadly, many now have some of the lowest rates of marriage and children born within wedlock in this country!

I appreciate what the site has done in terms of bringing all sorts of people from different backgrounds together. On MarryMeAlready.com, you will literally see Christians alongside Jews, alongside Atheists?alongside young, alongside ?older?! We truly have a melting pot. It?s fascinating, and we hope to continue to bridge gaps and bring all sorts of different people from different backgrounds together.
